Happy Thanksgiving from SEIM, The Tucson Seo

November 27, 2008 Leave a reply

Just thought I’d wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving.  A time for old traditions as well as new.  I’d like to also say, “Chin Up” to all Detroit Lion Fans.  47-10, Ouch.  My brother-in-law is a die hard Lions Fan.  Although I have nothing against the Lions, I’ll have to make some smartass comment when I go over to visit.  Maybe a sympathy card or something.  Anyhow, I just wanted to drop a line and for my next post I’ll be discussing Google Adsense, Adbrite and other CPM and CPC advertising options for Local Businesses online.

November 20, 2008 Leave a reply

Today I figured I’d throw down some seo tips, ideas, questions; basically just a list of random thoughts on my mind.  Some of these thing I have ironed out on this blog, some still need to be addressed.

  1. NO duplicate title tags, Title Tags 8 words max Preferred.
  2. NO duplicate meta information.
  3. NO duplicate content.
  4. Use H1 and H2 tags on all pages.
  5. Make use of <em>, <i> and <b> on choice key phrases, subtitles, etc.
  6. It’s not bad to link out, I will avoid linking out to direct competition.
  7. Target Keyphrases should make up no more than 6% of total word count
  8. Each page should encourage the reader to visit another (good content)
  9. External Homepage links should never pull more than 5% of your total traffic away
  10. This also goes for advertising programs like adsense (always should be a users last option)
  11. Shoot for four page views minimum per visitor.
  12. Give reasons to re-visit, consider the use of “the daily picture, video, comic or joke”
  13. Provide something nobody else provides, push past the competition
  14. Sensitive form data should always be protected with ssl
  15. Nofollow or 302 redirect obvious link purchases.

Comedian’s Commercial Video

I’ve always been a commercial buff. As a marketer you kind of need to pay attention to the advertising strategies these large companies use. Not to go be a copycat but to get the wheels turning on developing a great advertising pitch. Popular commercials are often times funny or have a cool tune. An affiliate manager of mine sent me the video below of a comedian who shares his idea of what commercials should be like.

Guest writing is the process of providing a website with a freshly written article in exchange for a bio. or resource link to your own website. There are benefits to both posting guest written content on your own blog as well as guest writing for other blogs.  I personally believe posting a useful article can be just as rank beneficial as building a link.  Read this post
