Commentators, Keep It Clean
One common way a webmarketer will build up links and web presence quickly is by posting comments on blogs. I usually keep this method to a minimum. When I do comment, I will try to bring a good honest opinion with my comment. Not a “Who agrees with the author?” comment and thats it. That’s Cheesy. These commentators (spammers) have no care for the article itself or the writer. Some haven’t even read the posts they are spamming. Some use programs that assist them with searching for a bunch of related blog posts and inserting comments on all of these posts instantly. This is a great way to get banned. If you’re commenting, it’s always good to get involved with what the writer’s saying. I have an automotive forum online that many attempt to spam. I get posts reading, “This is a cool forum” followed by a long tail link signature at the bottom with no relation to the community’s interest. Talk about an annoyance. If you happen to be a spammer, consider getting involved in the conversation for at least awhile. If the writer likes your comment and you continue bringing good comments, they may decide to add you onto their blogroll.
