CSS Reduces Bounce Rate

Published by admin at 12:00 am under Scripts for SEO

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets. Basically it’s code that will define how html elements are displayed on your website. With CSS implemented on your site, this can eliminate hours of work when it comes to making or editing font size and colors. CSS will also reduce the size of your page. If you have a page with a long menu made up of images, these can easily be converted to css buttons. By replacing 20 images with 20 css buttons your page load time will increase some. This also helps the search engines learn more about your page. Unless you specify ‘alt’ tags, search engines won’t be able to read your menu images. CSS buttons, on the other hand, are read just like normal text.

Accomadate the Slow Connections with CSS

Have you ever used a friends house on the computer browsing around on a slow internet connection. Did you try and load your own website only to find yourself bouncing out? How about all the 56k users. Yes, they are still out there. 56K is the only option for some of those who live in small towns and to far out of cable service. Just off the top of my head I know of 6 small towns close by with only dialup as an affordable internet provider. Some who can afford it go mobile while many remain stuck with the 56k connection. Just from those 6 towns I figure there could easily be 10,000 56K users. Do the math across the Nation or the World and those numbers could add up.

Faster Speeds Reduce Boune Rate

If your page is only performing well for highspeed users, how will this effect your rank? Bounce rate. Bounce rate represents the average percentage of visitors to a site who “bounce” away to another website or back to the search engine. A slow loading page can easily tempt a visitor to bounce out. Something we want to avoid at all costs.

I remember being on 56k some time ago. It was so nice to come across a site with a fast load time. Some I’d add to my favorite bookmarks.
