Increasing your Trust Factor
People want to be able to trust a website. Easy access to phone numbers has always been a major plus in my book. Most search marketers claim that having a phone number or address on your site has no direct affect on your search engine rankings. I do feel it can have an indirect affect. Bounce rate is defined as the percentage of single-page visits in which the person left your website after landing on the entry page. As bounce rate increases, your high rankings decrease. A mortgage company website with no phone contact information will probably see a higher bounce rate compared to a mortgage company conveniently providing a variety of customer service numbers, addresses, names, etc. The importance of providing this information will really depend on the website. Internet users probably wont feel they need to see a phone number on every internet marketing blog such as this one. However, if your website asks for personal information such as credit cards, checking acounts or ss numbers, including this type of contact information is crucial.
