Is post advertising a safe link building method

Published by admin at 5:42 pm under Link Building

So how about these websites like payperpost, blogvertise and sponsoredreviews.com. They provide ways for web developers to purchase blog post advertising at affordable onetime fees, which Google views as (paid-links). Even though a couple of these programs hide their blog publishers pretty well, I continue hesitating whether it’s worth the risk. Some pages I’ve tracked using this system seem to rank well while others don’t rank well at all.

Can Google Track those who participate?

It can’t be too hard for Google to figure out who is selling post advertising whether or not they broadcast thier partnership with these companies. If they can find who sells post ads, that information will give them the ability to track a number of sites paying for post ads through that sites archives. Once they track a bunch of sites paying for this form of advertising, Google can then do a back-link check on the buyers and find a whole new bunch of other blogs selling post links. So if they keep repeating this process they can end up tracking a majority of developers using this type of advertising service. Blogs working for Payperpost are a dead give away. Some have a module on their homepage that says “Hire Me” with a Payperpost logo right above. Blogvertise usually will provide an advertiser with 3 links. If Google writes a program that will track down any blogs containing 3 external links to the same domain in 80% percent of that blogs post, that blog is screwed for page-rank making it worth nothing to the advertiser. Sponsoredreviews.com seems like a great idea because with this service you get an honest review of your website or business and that can be very useful for business owners to see how someone from the outside feels about your product or service. However, it still holds some risk because it’s still semi related to the first couple services mentioned.

Testing link building methods:

If you want to play it more safe, you can test out higher risk link building method on a secondary feeder website instead of your primary website. This may delute any negative affects to your main site and if the search engines drop the hammer on the feeder site you can take your Main Sites link off to avoid any further penalties to the site that matters. This can be an expensive way to protect your rank, it may be worth the expense.
