Online After-Effects of a Superbowl Commercial

Last Superbowl 2007, Audi and Godaddy each had a commercial spot. According to wikipedia, a 30 second spot during superbowl can run about $2.6 million due to the 90+ million viewers watching. So is it worth it? Maybe if you can afford it, go for it. I’d definitely want to be creative with my commercial for the 90 million viewers who can also talk about the next day. So what does this have to do with internet marketing. If people are talking about it the next day…talk will continue online. In my opinion the Audi commercial was kind of cool I guess. Audiusa.com generated approximately 500 decent inbound links from the superbowl spot. Godaddy’s superbowl spot earned them thousands of links.

I used SEO with firefox to come up with this.

Copy paste and search the below text in Yahoo.

linkdomain:www.godaddy.com -site:www.godaddy.com superbowl

linkdomain:www.audiusa.com -site:www.audiusa.com superbowl

Below are the videos for each commercial. Regardless of the fact Godaddy is an website, domain and hosting company, I can assume there are other reasons why Godaddy’s commercial attracted more attention.
