The affiliate marketing programs provided by hotels are now getting much attention from the illegal adult entertainment industry. Prostitutes are now labeling themselves as sexy affiliate marketers. No longer charging up front for their services, they’ve been found standing outside high end hotels with laptops ready.
These sexy affiliate marketers help interested parties who “need a room” book a room with their laptop. Once the customer pays for the room, the affiliate marketer earns a referral fee for the sale. Depending on the hotel, some of these “entrepreneurs” earn anywhere from $20 to $150 per sale. Apparently, there is no guarantee the sexy affiliate marketer will actually go into the hotel with the buyer, even though it’s been noticed that most of the time they will. City officials and law enforcement are still figuring how to deal with the situation.
