One common way a webmarketer will build up links and web presence quickly is by posting comments on blogs. I usually keep this method to a minimum. I recently recieved an email from a company who sells automotive cleaning products. They were holding an interesting contest for car clubs. I figured I’d ramble on a bit about requesting links. Have you ever asked for a link? Were you successful? Most times you ask for a link you’ll probably get ignored. Someone who was visiting another blog of mine asked me today “Whats the point of comment links if you nofollow them?” I answered, “so the commentator can introduce their website to the community or blogger as they contribute to the subject. Deciding whether or not you should make your blog “dofollow” really depends on the subject you write about. If it’s a personal blog with a variety of non-competitive subjects I’d probably follow commentator links for the attention and feedback. If it’s a commercial blog in a competitive market, I get more sensitive about giving out external links.

An Seo will use a number of techniques to separate the mud from great link building opportunities. One way to do this is by learning how to search.
If you search for add link, your going to get a crazy amount of results and most will not be worth your researching effort. Start narrowing your results by placing terms within quotes.
“your keyword” “add site”
“your keyword” “submit site”
“your keyword” “submit article”

With internet marketing and seo for better search engine ranks, there is a white area, black area a big fat gray area. Sometimes we are forced to step into the gray to keep up with the competition. Say you sell golf shirts online. You have a great product, low prices, great service and a great website. Is that going to be enough to get seen on the 1st page of yahoo or Google.
